This was brought up on our discord today and I just had to check it to make sure it was real. It’s entirely possible that Facebook will test the feature on a small number of users before considering rolling it out to the general public if this turns out to be a real addition to the Quest family of products. We have also checked our own 2 quests and asked several other people, but none of them have been able to find the option yet. We reached out to Facebook to find out if anything official was indeed falling, but a Facebook representative said there was nothing to officially share at this time. Interestingly enough, a user on Twitter appears to have stumbled across what appears to be an official way to load popular Android apps directly from the Oculus App Store. While playing VR games on a VR headset will probably give you the best overall experience, being able to play the best Android games and run social apps on your Quest 2 turns it into a device with a very different purpose. In fact, sideloading apps on Quest 2 can open up a whole new world of apps and games, including the same apps you can use on an Android phone or tablet. ![]() Like most mobile electronics these days, the Oculus Quest 2 is powered by Android.
